Behind the Bar to Behind the Business

Founded by Sarah Madritsch, Madritsch Gastroconcepts began as a vision to bridge the gap between creative culinary artistry and operational excellence.

After years behind the bar and in hospitality leadership, Sarah saw a recurring need: businesses with potential lacked tailored strategies to thrive long-term. That's when she decided to turn her expertise into something bigger.

About the founder

Sarah Madritsch

Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, Sarah Madritsch began her hospitality career at Tropic City, one of Asia's most celebrated cocktail bars. The venue earned consistent placements on the Asia's 50 Best Bars list and was nominated for Best International Cocktail Bar at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards. In 2019, she moved to Zurich and joined the acclaimed Widder Hotel, where the bar received a Tales of the Cocktail nomination, a listing in World's 50 Best Discovery, and accolades from GaultMillau and Falstaff.

In 2022, Sarah joined IGNIV Zürich, the city's renowned two-Michelin-starred restaurant, where she was named Barkeeper of the Year Switzerland 2022 and earned Best Bar Menu Switzerland 2024. With over a decade of experience across cocktail bars, five-star hotels, and Michelin-starred kitchens, she now works as a gastronomy consultant, certified sommelière, and award-winning barkeeper. Sarah specializes in beverage concept development, operational optimization, and guest experience design—partnering with hospitality brands to build strategic, sustainable, and guest-focused concepts.
